The Slim tires return in Mario Kart 8. They look slightly different from their appearance in Mario Kart 7, and are available right from the start. There is a variant of the Slim tires called the Crimson Slim tires that also appear in Mario Kart 8.
CPU players tend to only use these tires whenever they're using the Standard Bike. However, a CPU-controlled Luigi will also use these tires alongside the Mach 8 kart body. Likewise, a CPU-controlled Mario will use these tires whenever he's using the Comet bike body.
