The B Dasher Mk. 2, originally known as the Sprinter in American English, is a kart that appears in Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart Tour. Its appearance is based on a Formula One car likely from between the mid-1980s and mid-1990s (Mario's color scheme in particular resembling the 1988 McLaren MP4/4), and it is the successor of the B Dasher from Mario Kart DS. The emblem is located on both sides of the spoiler and the hood. The Circuit Special from Mario Kart 8 greatly resembles the B Dasher Mk. 2, and its Dutch name, Sprinter 2.0, implies that it is a successor to both this kart and the original B Dasher, which is called Sprinter in Dutch.

The B Dasher Mk. 2, also known as Sprinter in North America, is a medium-sized Kart which appears in the game Mario Kart Wii. Only medium-sized characters can drive in this kart. Its appearance is based off of a Formula One car and judging by its name outside of North America is probably intended to be an improved version of the B Dasher. This kart can be unlocked by unlocking 24 expert staff ghosts in Time Trials.
History
Mario Kart Wii
The Sprinter, known as B Dasher Mk 2 in the British English version, first appears in Mario Kart Wii as a medium-sized kart. It features great speed; it is the fastest medium vehicle in the game and the second fastest kart in the game after the Jetsetter. It is also the third fastest vehicle in the game, after the Spear and the Jetsetter. Its weight, which is tied with the Shooting Star, is slightly above average, and it is the second heaviest medium kart in the game, only to be behind that of the Wild Wing’s. Its drift is about average, but its other stats are rather low, and it has the worst handling, off-road, and Mini-Turbo of the medium vehicles. The Sprinter's drift is tied with the Booster Seat, and its acceleration is tied with the Honeycoupe. Its off-road and handling tie with that of the Flame Runner for fourth worst handling (behind the Flame Flyer, Spear, and Jetsetter) and fourth worst off-road in the game (behind  the Flame Flyer, Spear, and Jetsetter).

The Sprinter is one of the fastest vehicles in the game. Its weight is also manageable.  Its drift is about average, but its other stats are rather low. It shares the same stats with the Nitrocycle.
The kart can be unlocked by unlocking 24 expert staff ghosts in Time Trials, by winning 3,000 WFC races or by playing 4,650 races; as such, it is most likely to be among the final vehicles unlocked. The Sprinter’s bike counterpart is the Sneakster, its large counterpart is the Jetsetter, and its small counterpart is the Blue Falcon. The Sprinter also has the lowest stat total out of any medium vehicle in the game, having only 245 stat points.

Stats
If Daisy rides the Sprinter, its speed can surpass the Spear's default speed by one point, which will make it the second fastest vehicle in the game. Also, if Peach rides the Sprinter, its acceleration will tie with the Bullet Bike's default acceleration stat.

Trivia
Mario Kart Tour
*The kart's North American name comes from the word "Sprint" which means to run at full speed (someone in a 100-meter footrace, for example, is sprinting).
The B Dasher Mk. 2 returns in Mario Kart Tour under its current American English name. It is a tour-exclusive High-End kart debuting in the 2021 Mario Tour as the signature kart of Mario (Racing); it later became the signature kart of Mario (Golf) during the Piranha Plant Tour. Unlike before, it is only equipped with Mario's color scheme no matter which driver is using it. The B Dasher Mk. 2 retains its original tires, although they now have the Mario Kart logo on them. It increases the duration of Dash Panel speed boosts and the number of points earned for using Dash Panels.
*The name "B Dasher" is most likely a reference to the controls of the side-scrolling NES and GameBoy games - the player presses and holds the B button to dash. The "Mk. 2" is a Reference to Mario's DS Kart.
*The Sprinter is the only medium-sized vehicle capable of surpassing the speed of the Flame Flyer. It also has better handling, ironically enough.

The game also introduces eight variants of this kart, some of which use color schemes from Mario Kart Wii: the Red B Dasher Mk. 2, Pink B Dasher Mk. 2 (Peach's color scheme), Classic B Dasher Mk. 2, Sky-Blue B Dasher Mk. 2, Metal B Dasher Mk. 2, Cream B Dasher Mk. 2 (Female Mii's color scheme), Green B Dasher Mk. 2 (Bowser Jr.'s color scheme), and Black B Dasher Mk. 2. The first seven karts all debuted in the 2nd Anniversary Tour, while the Black B Dasher Mk. 2 debuted in the 2023 Anniversary Tour. All variants share the High-End classification.

History[edit]

Mario Kart Wii[edit]

If Daisy rides the Sprinter, its speed can surpass the Spear's default speed by one point, which will make it the second fastest vehicle in the game. Also, if Peach rides the Sprinter, its acceleration will tie with the Bullet Bike's default acceleration stat.

Mario Kart Tour[edit]

This is the only kart in Mario Kart Tour to use the original British English name in its English version as opposed to the original American English name.

The game also introduces eight variants of this kart, some of which use color schemes from Mario Kart Wii: the Red B Dasher Mk. 2, Pink B Dasher Mk. 2 (Peach's color scheme), Classic B Dasher Mk. 2, Sky-Blue B Dasher Mk. 2, Metal B Dasher Mk. 2, Cream B Dasher Mk. 2 (Female Mii's color scheme), Green B Dasher Mk. 2 (Bowser Jr.'s color scheme), and Black B Dasher Mk. 2. The first seven karts all debuted in the 2nd Anniversary Tour, while the Black B Dasher Mk. 2 debuted in the 2023 Anniversary Tour. All variants share the High-End classification.

Starting with the Battle Tour, the B Dasher Mk. 2 is available in regular tour pipes, including the All-Clear Pipe. However, it is not currently a part of the Daily Selects. The table below shows the kart's availability by tour.
