Raven[1][2] chicks are enemies introduced in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its reissue. These small Ravens appear in Naval Piranha's Castle occasionally. When Yoshi eats them, they are automatically digested without being turned into a Yoshi Egg. Like the larger adults, Ravens can climb walls and ceilings. Ravens return in Yoshi's New Island, where they are only found in Eggstraordinary Terrain. Unlike previously, Yoshi can lay an egg if he eats one.

These Ravens are found in Super Princess Peach, giving no vibe energy if absorbed by Perry (in a similar manner to how Yoshi could not produce eggs upon eating them).

Profiles and statistics[edit]

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[edit]

  • Shogakukan guide: 壁に沿ってテクテク走り回る九官鳥のヒナ。数匹いっしょにいることが多い。[3] (Hill myna chicks running along the walls. There are often several of them together.)
  • Player's Guide: These flightless birds normally live on the little worlds of their own, although a few inhabit Naval Piranha's castle.[1]
  • Shogakukan guide (Game Boy Advance): カベに沿ってテクテク走り回る九官鳥のヒナ。数匹でいることが多い。食べて倒せるが、タマゴにはできない。[4] (Hill myna chicks running along the walls. Often in groups of several. They can be defeated by eating them, but they cannot be turned into eggs.)

Yoshi's New Island[edit]

  • Shogakukan guide: くちばしのある鳥のような敵。群れで行動することが多く、地続きの地形なら天井や壁でも歩ける。どんな攻擊でも倒すことができ、食べた瞬間にタマゴになる。[5] (A bird-like enemy with a distinctive beak. They often work in groups, and can walk on ceilings and walls if the terrain is continuous. They can be defeated by any attack, and they turn into eggs the moment they are eaten.)
