A Preying Mantas is a Jellyfish found in the waters in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. They move up and down in a small area, so they're not much of a threat. Yoshis can only attack them when in submarine mode, so spend the torpedoes on the Piscatory Pete fish.

Preying Mantas[1] are jellyfish enemies in the Yoshi's Island series. Their English name is a play on "praying mantis" and "manta," with the use of "preying" conveying they are aggressive creatures. Preying Mantas move up and down in a small area, making them little of a threat to the Yoshis. A Preying Mantas can be defeated from one of Submarine Yoshi's torpedoes.
