Bonus Challenges are minigames in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (and its reissue) and Yoshi's Island DS. When a Yoshi reaches the goal roulette and the roulette lands on a flower, a Bonus Challenge can be instantly played. In the original Yoshi's Island, a specific Bonus Challenge can also be unlocked and played anytime after the player gets 800 points in a world; in the reissue and Yoshi's Island DS, Bonus Challenges can be accessed after the player gets 700 points in a world.

  • In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, as there are no goal roulettes in fortress levels for Yellow Yoshis to pass Baby Mario on to Purple Yoshis, the latter are the only color type not to participate in Bonus Challenges.
