Disruptive edits[edit]
Hi, sorry for the disruptive editing, but I disagree with the fact that I see that despite being a hybrid, the Nintendo Switch is actually a home console. What should I do before I can make a major change on the video game system articles and templates? GuntherBayBeee
- I'm not an admin or patroller myself, but the best thing to do would be to talk out the edit with whoever reverted it, preferably on the talk pages of the articles that were edited. Mari0fan100 (talk) 02:19, July 22, 2022 (EDT)
Minor edits[edit]
When making small edits like fixing links, make sure you mark them as "minor" by clicking the "This is a minor edit" checkbox above the "Save changes" button. Mario JC 22:51, July 22, 2022 (EDT)
Ice[edit]
Hi, regarding the "Ice" obstacle article you created, where did you get its name from? Just curious. (T|C) 22:56, July 22, 2022 (EDT)
- Hi, I made that name up, so I put {{conjecture}} on top of that article. GuntherBayBeee
(Friendly) reminder[edit]
Please stop making major changes without prior discussion on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing. If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
If you wish to see Red Blargg merged with Blargg, please bring up the subject on either talk page first. Considering their different appearances and different names (in English and Japanese), some users may be apprehensive to the idea of merging them (not to mention that Spike Bass and Porcupuffer remain split despite having identical behaviors throughout the New Super Mario Bros. games anyways). Thanks! (T|C) 00:52, July 31, 2022 (EDT)
Super Mario Land 2 names[edit]
I disagree with these rename templates because the way those "names" are used in the sources are more as generic terms rather than proper names. If that is the case, sticking with the other language name is still preferable. Nightwicked Bowser 19:10, August 3, 2022 (EDT)
See this proposal. Mario JC 01:15, August 4, 2022 (EDT)
Proposal Formatting[edit]
Just a heads up that in your proposal here, it is supposed to end at August 26, 2022, 23:59 GMT, not 19:51 GMT. See Rule 3 of the proposal rules for more information. Mari0fan100 (talk) 17:54, August 22, 2022 (EDT)
Again, make sure you follow the correct proposal procedure. Deadlines should always be before midnight, and remember to tag the proposal with {{TPP}} and link it in MarioWiki:Proposals/Lists, otherwise users won't see it easily. Mario JC 05:53, December 17, 2022 (EST)
Please remember to list your TPPs on MarioWiki:Proposals/Lists. Mario JC 09:42, July 29, 2023 (EDT)
Organization of the Yoshi franchise[edit]
Hello, it appears that you have been reorganizing Yoshi franchise information into very specific subheaders which has been excessive. When dealing with subseries such as Yoshi, headers should simply label the entire franchise, such as how Banana is handled regarding the Donkey Kong series; this also applies to Wario as well. In addition, if individual appearances are similar such as Smiley Flower, they should be considered into a single Yoshi's Island series section rather than cover each individual entry in a header. Ray Trace(T|C) 16:39, August 23, 2022 (EDT)
New Super Mario Bros. 2 parallel world[edit]
Where exactly are you getting at with this? Unless there is some kind of official statement with this, please stop putting that back. Regardless, New Super Mario Bros. is the kind of series where that sort of thing does not matter one bit. Nightwicked Bowser 19:11, August 24, 2022 (EDT)
I would suggest taking a good look at MarioWiki:Canonicity. Nightwicked Bowser 06:34, August 25, 2022 (EDT)
Your uploads[edit]
You don't have to reupload an image to change its filename, just move it like you would any other page. However, I'd also point out that the proposal you're citing for the moves didn't actually pass. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 22:30, September 10, 2022 (EDT)
After you move a file, you need to edit the articles that link to it and change the old file name to the new file name. There are still articles that link to the old file names (they're listed on Special:WhatLinksHere, which you click on under "tools" on the left navigation bar while on the old file name's page). After all the links for a file have been updated, mark the old file name for deletion with {{delete}}. I'm not sure why you're moving these anyway if there was no passed proposal that decided this. Mario JC 01:24, September 12, 2022 (EDT)
Warning[edit]
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site. If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
As repeatedly pointed out on your recent TPP, you simply copy-pasted another user's earlier proposal for the Birdo page, merely swapping out mentions of "Birdo" with "Yoshi". Not only does this severely muddle up the point being made as several of the arguments original brought up are blatantly not applicable to the case being discussed, this, is to be truthful, plagiarism. You took another contributor's work, making no attempt to ask for permission or credit the original text, and passed it off as your own. This may be in the narrow and niche context of intra-wiki discussions, but that doesn't make it right.
Doing what you did in a creative and professional context invariably comes with serious, almost-always career-ending consequences, That you made no attempt to address or acknowledge the matter after it was brought up by other users does not speak well of your ethics as an editor either. --Glowsquid (talk) 12:14, October 9, 2022 (EDT)
Okay. I’ll start over by using my own words. GuntherBayBeee
- And as I said in the vote, "bit early for this, son." If you know something is going to have near-unanimous opposition, it's always best to bide your time and wait for new information or general consensus to evolve rather than attempting to "settle" it there and then. In this case, there's still a lot of things split that can be treated as reason to keep a more important subject like this split. I've waited months or years for some things which paid off well. (Also, when making proposals, don't rely fully on others to do your homework and debating. Wu, LTL, and I were the only ones really making supporting arguments, and I was the only one then to actually openly support through voting.) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:10, October 9, 2022 (EDT)
Deletion[edit]
For the record, deleting something doesn't actually save any space on the server. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 18:47, October 23, 2022 (EDT)
Tropical Freeze gallery proposal[edit]
Not sure if you're looking at the comments in your proposal, but it has been requested that the proposal's exact goals should be made clearer (if you intend to make a new gallery page as you attempted, or move all images to the game's page). It would also be nice if another option was added to the proposal to further distinguish the two possibilities. As of me leaving this message, you have three days to make these changes. Nightwicked Bowser 06:31, December 20, 2022 (EST)
Last warning[edit]
This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki. If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Next time you attempt to make a big change without discussing or proposing will be followed with a block. Do not just put deletion tags on other pages and attempt to merge it all on one page without at least trying to see what others would think about the situation. Nightwicked Bowser 19:39, December 31, 2022 (EST)
- Okay. I'll start over by making a proposal. How long will the block after failure to communicate last? GuntherBayBeee
- First block will be for two weeks. Also, if you do make a proposal, you really should pay very close attention to votes and comments, and interact more if needed compared to your previous proposals. Nightwicked Bowser 19:55, December 31, 2022 (EST)
Desktop previewing[edit]
When redoing pages into sections, make sure you see how they look on desktop. While image placement looks fine on mobile most of the time, on desktop they're all defaulted to the right and stack on top of each other, misaligning them from the sections and pushing them into the non-History sections. A good way to lay the images out properly would be to alternate aligning them left and right and using {{br}}. Mario JC 05:30, January 4, 2023 (EST)
Signature[edit]
Dear GuntherBayBeee, Your current signature is in violation of one or more of the rules listed on MarioWiki:Signatures (too many images). Please change your signature and keep the regulations and requirements in mind when creating future designs. If you have not made the appropriate changes within one week of receiving this notice, your signature will be changed for you. |
Per MarioWiki:Signatures, only up to two static images or one animated image are allowed. Mario JC 23:34, April 17, 2023 (EDT)
Fanon content[edit]
Hi, I happened to notice that you seem to be interested in writing Mario fanon content based on your message to Porplemontage. While that sort of content isn't allowed in the wiki's mainspace, it is something that could be featured in The 'Shroom's Fake News section! You could write about characters, items, games, pretty much anything you'd like (within reasonable limits, of course - as long as it's appropriate, you're good), and it doesn't even have to be on a specific schedule if you don't want to commit to one. Please feel free to ask me f you have any questions about it. If you're interested, our sign up page has information on how to send an application to Meta Knight on the forums, or you can just submit something directly to me on the forums if you'd prefer. Thanks for reading and have a nice day! -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 17:04, June 5, 2023 (EDT)
Story linking[edit]
I linked this page to you already, but per MarioWiki:Canonicity we shouldn't try to connect the storylines of certain games to each other when there is absoloutely no indication that the stories actually do follow each other. Super Mario World is an exception as the connection to Super Mario Bros. 3 is made in the instruction manual, but please stop doing this for the New Super Mario Bros. games, and even the Super Mario Galaxy games. Nightwicked Bowser 21:06, June 15, 2023 (EDT)
Move, merge and split templates[edit]
Per this proposal, please do not put these templates on pages without starting a discussion or proposal in the talk page first. Nightwicked Bowser 13:51, July 19, 2023 (EDT)
- Okay, now I'll never be able to put them without starting a discussion or proposal in the talk page first. GuntherBayBeee 14:07, July 19, 2023 (EDT)
Major article changes[edit]
Please stop making significant changes to articles on a whim without a discussion or even giving a reason for doing so. While not as major as cases you were warned for previously, even something like drastically reorganising List of games or Mario Party (series) (issues for which have been raised on their talk pages) could at least have been brought up on the talk page first. Next time, please consider whether there'd be potential concerns or disagreements with what you're changing and gather some opinions from others before making changes like this. Also, don't ask for others to not revert your edits; anyone has the right to if it's within reason. Mario JC 00:08, August 19, 2023 (EDT)
Reminder[edit]
Please stop not following proper proposal procedure on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing. If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Your last several proposals were missing the {{TPP}} notice and the link on the main proposals page to let others know a proposal is going on despite already being reminded of this multiple times. Please remember to follow the procedure step-by-step; you're responsible for your own proposal and other users shouldn't have to correct this for you each time (and by not doing so, it's less likely to get attention, as was the case with Yoshi Racing during its first two weeks). Mario JC 23:59, November 3, 2023 (EDT)
I'd like to remind you of this again, since you've made a new talk page proposal without adding the link to it on the list three times in the past couple days. Hewer (talk · contributions · edit count) 10:28, December 3, 2023 (EST)
18-Volt[edit]
Hi, can you explain why you are insisting including 18-Volt's Get it Together art on his article now it has bee updated to Move It? The art representing Get It Together on the preview gallery is in a unique art style unlike the official render, which is the exact same art style as Gold. Every other WarioWare character uses these images to represent the game and I feel its better to keep it that way for consistency's sake.
Sdman213 (talk) 21:09, November 6, 2023 (EST)
Your subpage proposal[edit]
I've decided to archive it early for violating MarioWiki:Lists. You can view the original proposal here and my suggestion to how to discuss and approach these kinds of topics that directly relate to our policy pages. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 13:38, November 26, 2023 (EST)
Redirects[edit]
Please stop redoing edits that were previously reverted and marking Yoshi (platform series) for deletion. Not only does it have edit history, there's no real benefit getting rid of it and if anything kills external links other websites could've linked to the article at the time. Mario JC 00:23, December 30, 2023 (EST)
Read MarioWiki:Redirects. Per the "Unnecessary redirects" section, "[t]here is no need to delete alternate-name, conjectural, or spelling-mistake redirects unless they are specifically too silly or too general." Mario JC 08:46, June 18, 2024 (EDT)
unapproved tabber cases[edit]
I see you're adding tabber to the Mario 64 courses, but it's not been approved for use Super Mario RPG (talk) 14:39, January 21, 2024 (EST)
- Oh. Sorry about that. I'll need to make a proposal before doing that. --GuntherBayBeee 14:41, January 21, 2024 (EST)
- There's actually an ongoing proposal about this very thing right now. Super Mario RPG (talk) 14:42, January 21, 2024 (EST)

Enacting other users' proposals[edit]
Just a heads up that the first bullet point in MarioWiki:Courtesy#Discourteous behavior advises against enacting someone else's proposals. You should ask the user who proposed it first before you go ahead, especially if that user is someone who normally does enact their own proposals. Nightwicked Bowser 11:47, February 2, 2024 (EST)
Subject origin[edit]
This parameter is primarily used for real life subjects like crab, for Goomba/Galoomba cases it's still accurate to use the variants and relatives parameters. Nightwicked Bowser 12:27, February 4, 2024 (EST)
Spike Eel concept art[edit]
Hi, GuntherBB. I saw that you uploaded this piece of concept art recently. I'm sure you did this with the best intentions, but I ask that you delete it and not upload anymore concept pieces from The Art of Super Mario Odyssey. I once uploaded similar files myself before admins gently informed me that this wiki should not provide access to art only found in copyrighted, published books, especially at the large resolution of this specific uploaded file and doubly-especially for books still being sold. I hope you understand. - Nintendo101 (talk) 21:43, March 2, 2024 (EST)
- Okay. I promise that I will never be able to upload any more concept pieces from The Art of Super Mario Odyssey.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by GuntherBB (talk).- Thanks a bunch! - Nintendo101 (talk) 22:54, March 2, 2024 (EST)
Re: Proposal Clean Up[edit]
I'm gonna be honest, I haven't voted on it because it concerns something I myself am relatively unfamiliar with and something I myself rarely use. Therefore, I didn't really have any reason to vote. Tails777 Talk to me!
- Also, this is the second time you've posted in my talk page about a proposal which I haven't been interested to vote in, the first time being a week ago. If I am interested and/or I decide on an option, then I will leave a vote. I do not want to see another message from you asking me about your proposals on my talk page. Nightwicked Bowser 22:03, March 30, 2024 (EDT)
- So what's a better way to do than post in someone's talk page about a proposal to vote in? GuntherBayBeee 22:08, March 30, 2024 (EDT)
- This paragraph is copy-pasted from MarioWiki:Courtesy
- "Users should not solicit votes from other users.
- Do not ask other users to vote for anything, period. While this is mainly directed at proposals, it applies to FAs, elections, and any other voting that takes place on the Super Mario Wiki. Even if you don't explicitly ask your friends to support your cause (or to join you in opposing something), simply contacting them makes it look like you're fishing for votes in your favor. The only time you are allowed to draw someone's attention to a vote is when a proposal concerns a subject that is important to them. Far from an act of discourtesy, giving them a heads-up about some possible changes being made to that subject would be a very considerate thing to do. Furthermore, if the validity or rationale behind someone's vote is being questioned, you can contact the voter and ask them to check back in on the matter, which may result in them changing their vote." Nightwicked Bowser 22:12, March 30, 2024 (EDT)
- So what's a better way to do than post in someone's talk page about a proposal to vote in? GuntherBayBeee 22:08, March 30, 2024 (EDT)
Bowser's Fury in infoboxes[edit]
I've been reverting your string of edits regarding this because I think it should have some further discussion first. Nightwicked Bowser 14:23, May 8, 2024 (EDT)
- Okay. I'll start over with a proposal. GuntherBayBeee 14:24, May 8, 2024 (EDT)
- You know what? I had to cancel my proposal due to too many oppositions, so I shouldn't be doing things like my string of edits regarding Bowser's Fury in infoboxes at all, because that would be unnecessary. Never mind! GuntherBayBeee 17:20, May 8, 2024 (EDT)
Yoshi's Island chart icons[edit]
Hi, Gunther. I noticed your inclusions of the level and world icons for the Yoshi's Island series in Template:Chart icon. Not a bad idea, but have you considered trying to incorporate them into Template:World instead? I think it should provide a for focused integration of what you want, I think. I also worry about the other template getting too large. (No worries if you do not want to do that - just thought I would throw that out there.) I may also reach out to Ray Trace (talk) if you are planning any major overalls of the Yoshi's Island articles. A lot of the baseline work on those articles was done by her. Cheers! - Nintendo101 (talk) 08:50, May 15, 2024 (EDT)
templates[edit]
Glad to see you liking my templates. Implementing them is hard work, so it's always nice to see others add, or even improve upon what I made, for the sake of universal consistency across the wiki. Thank you. Super Mario RPG (talk) 16:36, May 15, 2024 (EDT)
- You, sir, are welcome. GuntherBayBeee 16:37, May 15, 2024 (EDT)
- Like I understand the point of wikis is to edit, though things like wikitables are coding within the articles (just as infoboxes would be if they weren't infoboxes), and it's less of a hassle to adjust a wikitable with similar or identical columns throughout articles (e.g. the Smash Brothers descriptions) if it's all been predefined beforehand. This way, adjustments to a template can apply to the hundreds of pages it is on. In other words, it's more versatile when it's all been defined by a template, as well as beginner friendly. Super Mario RPG (talk) 16:50, May 15, 2024 (EDT)
"More refs needed" tag[edit]
The tag's purpose is to signal pages that require a large amount of citations, such as Deanna Mustard. Stop placing the tag on any page with even just one "citation needed" tag, because that makes the latter redundant. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 18:06, May 16, 2024 (EDT)
SMG missions table[edit]
Are you done implementing it? Though looks like the Mario Galaxy 2 pages could use it. Super Mario RPG (talk) 11:47, May 23, 2024 (EDT)
Snow Cheep Cheep[edit]
Hello, I am messaging you to ask about an edit you made to Cheep Cheep on July 23, 2022, where you added "Snow Cheep Cheep" as a name for those found in the Snow Kingdom. This name had been removed from the article, because, in short, it doesn't seem that is was intended as a name for the enemy, any more than the equivalent "Lake Cheep Cheep". The capitalization of the word "Snow" is probably simply due to the Moon names being written in title case. Is it okay if I remove it again? Blinker (talk) 15:26, May 24, 2024 (EDT)
Project[edit]
Since I'm busy with citations and you appear to like helping on my templates, I had an idea that if you'd like a project, you can add some of the Smash Bros. templates to some of these crossover character pages listed under this (failed) proposal. I was unsure the longevity of the profiles staying around, but it appears the enactment of the trophy templates isn't complete, since those profiles will be staying. Super Mario RPG (talk) 16:21, June 5, 2024 (EDT)
- I'll try. GuntherBayBeee 16:23, June 5, 2024 (EDT)
- There's obviously no obligation, but I do appreciate your willingness to help out. Super Mario RPG (talk) 16:26, June 5, 2024 (EDT)
Portrait ghost titles[edit]
Can you at least explain why you're removing those before going around doing it? I've been reverting and putting them back. Nightwicked Bowser 14:17, July 24, 2024 (EDT)
- Yes. I'm removing the portrait ghost titles because I also like how the names of the Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze bosses are shortened in bold. GuntherBayBeee 14:20, July 24, 2024 (EDT)
Mario Kart Track Infoboxes[edit]
Hi there
It's admirable that you are tackling the tabber thing in light of the recent proposal, however if I may mention, I made a comment on which images in the Mario Kart track/Mario Party mini-game infoboxes would take priority and Waluigi Time did follow up with it best taking the safe route and returning to screenshots from the original games. Going forward, could you please remember to change the infobox image to that of whichever game the track/mini-game originated from? As Waluigi Time mentioned, if anyone wants to make a proposal regarding which game should be used for the infobox, that can be arranged at some point, but for now, we should stick to the original games. Tails777 Talk to me!

Over-shrunken images[edit]
I've noticed for the Galaxy tables you've been shrinking images to a near-unparseable 100px. While I see you are using mobile, that is too small on a standard desktop/laptop screen - As a non-sprite, it might as well not be there at all at that size. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:11, October 9, 2024 (EDT)
- Sorry. My bad. What's the size you would recommend? GuntherBayBeee 17:27, October 9, 2024 (EDT)
- Tell me the maximum image size that you would recommend. GuntherBayBeee 17:36, October 9, 2024 (EDT)
- I'd generally go with 200px maximum, 140px minimum, with preference towards the larger end. It depends on the type of image, really. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:58, October 9, 2024 (EDT)
- Thanks. GuntherBayBeee 18:05, October 9, 2024 (EDT)
- Also, in regards to the star icons, you generally shouldn't be shrinking sprites at all. Put them back to normal size, please. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:32, October 9, 2024 (EDT)
- NVM, I found a better solution. You can go back to the chart-icon template, I fixed the issue it had. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:42, October 9, 2024 (EDT)
- OK, said solution was rejected. I guess just keep it as-is. ^-^;; Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:19, October 9, 2024 (EDT)
- Thanks. GuntherBayBeee 18:05, October 9, 2024 (EDT)
