Stanley is a Boo who lives in Gusty Gulch in Paper Mario. When Mario and Lady Bow arrive in Gusty Gulch, Stanley will talk to them while Tubba Blubba comes to hunt Boos. Stanley then instructs the Boos to hide and Lady Bow to use her Outta Sight ability to hide Mario. Stanley himself is eaten shortly thereafter by Tubba Blubba. Following Tubba Blubba's defeat at the hands of Mario, Stanley and the other eaten Boos are released from Tubba Blubba's stomach.
