Goombario and the Adventure of the Hot Lava Rocks is an Adobe Flash game made to promote Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64. It was developed by POP Multimedia and published on its website.[1]

Gameplay[edit]

The game functions as a multi-level platformer, with the player controlling Goombario and having to use their computer's arrow keys to navigate him across a path of rocks that rise and fall into the pit of lava below the playing area. The main objective of the game is to get Goombario from the starting area to the opposite side of the playing area. The player must make sure not to get hit by Kammy Koopa, who flies around the playing area, and make sure not to jump on the rocks as soon as they rise, as they are still hot and will send the player back to the starting area if the player touches them while they are in this state. The player has a 30-second time limit to cross. If the player falls into the lava, runs out of time, or collides with Kammy Koopa, the player will get sent back to the starting area and need to attempt to cross again.
