The Ring Burner is a robotic enemy first appearing in Super Mario 3D World. They appear in only 3 levels, World 5-6, World Star-1, and in World -. These enemies blast either square or circular plasma rings when they spot the player. They have the same insignia found commonly on Bill Blasters. Also, they act and look similar to Sentry Beams from Super Mario Galaxy. Unlike Sentry Beams, which turn into springs when jumped on, Ring Burners only become disabled as long as a player stands on it. They cannot be destroyed by any means.

Variant of Pulse Beam

Ring Burners[1][2] are enemies in Super Mario 3D World and its port. They are encountered in only three levels: Cakewalk Flip, Rainbow Run, and Champion's Road. They have the same insignia commonly found on Bill Blasters and closely resemble Ball Beamers from Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 in both appearance and function, but are red in color. Ring Beamers do not move from their spot, but approaching them causes them to launch square or circular plasma rings outward from their centers. Their plasma rings can be avoided by jumping and will evaporate at a certain distance. As with Sentry Beams, Ring Burners can be disabled if stood on, though they cannot be destroyed by any means.
