Variant of | Cheep Cheep |
Puffer-Cheeps are enemies in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. They are spiny indigo varieties of Cheep Cheeps found on the Seabed. The Nintendo Power guide refers to the Sand Cheep as a "Puffer-Cheep"[1]:88 or "Puffer Cheep,"[1]:127 while the actual Puffer-Cheep is referred to as a "Puffy Cheep".[2] The remake replaces Puffer-Cheeps and their base form with Spiny Cheep Cheeps.
Puffer-Cheeps are the poisonous varieties of Cheep Cheeps, which become them after taking damage.[2] If Mario or Luigi stomp a Puffer-Cheep, they become poisoned, though when Puffer-Cheep charges at either bro, he can counter it with his Hammer. Puffer-Cheeps return to regular Cheep Cheeps after taking damage.
