Players must [[Ground Pound|ground-pound]] an inflatable blue Thwomp enough to completely deflate it. The higher the [[jump]] before the Ground Pound, the more air that gets deflated. The first team to completely deflate its Thwomp wins. In [[Mario Party 4]], when ground-pounding the inflatable blue Thwomps, its sound effect will increase in pitch. If neither team has completely deflated their Thwomp within 30 seconds, the game ends in a tie.

The Great Deflate is a 2-vs-2 minigame in Mario Party 4 and Mario Party: The Top 100.

The minigame opens with a scene of an inflatable Thwomp dropping to the ground.

Both teams ground-pound their inflatable blue Thwomp repeatedly with the goal of deflating it entirely. Ground Pounds from higher jumps deflate the Thwomp further. The first team to meet the objective wins, but if neither team does so within 30 seconds, it is a tie.

The ending shows the winning team and losing team performing their respective animations.
