Slippenglide Island is a snowy island in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Its name is derived from the phrase "slip and glide", and it is found drifting in the Brrrning Sea. When Slippenglide Island becomes accessible, Mario and Luigi have the option to connect it or Skorcheen Island in either order. Throughout the island, there are Bouncy Blooms which are covered in snow. The snow can be removed by using either UFO Vacuum or a fireball while in Fire & Ice form, allowing the Bouncy Blooms to be used as normal.
History[edit]
After Heatfreeze Island is connected, the IDLE group discover the Extension Corps' hideout on Slippenglide Island, prompting Mario and Luigi to investigate. Upon arriving in the village, they find most of the inhabitants infected by Glohm including the island's chief, Chilliam's dad. Mario and Luigi find the IDLE group on the far left side of the island, along with Ten in the lab. Mario and Luigi chase Ten up the mountain, learning Ball Blitz on the way to push through a strong wind. Ten escapes, and Mario and Luigi look around his lab, only to find not much information about Glohm or Zokket's plans.
On the way to the island's lighthouse, Mario and Luigi encounter a group of Goombas and Koopa Paratroopas. Both groups are fought back-to-back, and all members of both groups must be defeated at the same time otherwise they call reinforcements. Unbeknownst to them, Bowser Jr. is nearby looking for Bowser's Minions. After defeating the Goombas and Koopa Paratroopas, Mario and Luigi connect Slippenglide Island to Shipshape Island.
When Reclusa awakens, Mario and Luigi return to Slippenglide Island seeking the Extension Corps to get a Bond from them, which they need to get into the Soli-Tree. The Extension Corps are found in their lab and give Mario and Luigi the last bond they need.
