"Spinning Slots"[1], originally titled 「スロットBGM/神経衰弱BGM」 (Surotto BGM / Shinkei Suijaku BGM, "Slot BGM / Concentration BGM")[2] in Japanese soundtracks, is a musical theme composed for the Spade Panel and N-Mark Spade Panel minigames in Super Mario Bros. 3 by Koji Kondo. The theme consists of a simple repeating ascending bassline with jazz snare drum percussion.

Arrangements

Super Mario series

Super Mario All-Stars

An enhanced 16-bit arrangement of "Spinning Slots" is used for the Spade Panel minigame in the Super Mario Bros. 3 remake in Super Mario All-Stars.

The arrangement returns for the same purpose in Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World and Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition.

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3

An arrangement of "Spinning Slots" arranged by Taiju Suzuki similar to one heard in Super Mario All-Stars can be heard in Game Boy Advance remake of Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. This version is more compressed than the Super Mario All-Stars version and uses different, lower-quality synthetic instruments.

Super Mario 64 DS

In Super Mario 64 DS, an arrangement of "Spinning Slots" arranged by Kenta Nagata plays during the Wanted!, Connect the Characters, and Mario's Slides minigames.

Wanted! and Mario's Slides return in New Super Mario Bros., along with the theme's arrangement.

Super Mario Maker 2

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, an arrangement of "Spinning Slots" arranged by Yoko Shimomura plays in Grate Guy's Casino.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Paper Mario: Sticker Star features an even jazzier arrangement of "Spinning Slots" that plays in Snifit or Whiffit whenever the Host Snifit introduces each challenge. The main melody is played on bass and trumpet with snare drum percussion and piano accompaniment. The arrangement also includes a modulation and occasional jazz piano runs and fills.

This arrangement returns for the same purpose in Paper Mario: Color Splash in Snifit or Whiffit Seabed Edition. It is titled "Your Answers, Please!" in the Prisma Museum sound gallery.
