Back Cursyas are a sub-species of Cursyas from Super Paper Mario. They can be distinguished from other Cursyas because of their gray color. If players touch a Back Cursya, they will "flip out" and be sent back to Flipside. Its name comes from the fact that it curses the player to be sent back to Flipside. There are only two Back Cursyas in the game. A character is "flipped out" when they touch a Back Cursya. Upon touching the Cursya, the player is warped back to Flipside, requiring them to backtrack. Because the effect is instantaneous, Piccolo cannot undo this status effect.
Back Cursyas are the only Cursyas without a dark form.
