The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an acceptable name is found, then the article should be moved to the new title.
Spike Bars are hazardous obstacles that are shown to first appear in Super Mario 3D Land. In the game, they are essentially duplicates of Fire Bars except without any burning properties. However, unlike Fire Bars (which mostly only appear in lava-themed levels), Spike Bars are found all over the place including levels like World 2-4 and World 5-3. Like Fire Bars, there can be two Spike Bars rotating at the same axis. But unlike Fire Bars, there has never been a Spike Bar to rotate on its side nor has a Spike Bar with more than two bars rotating at the same axis been spotted.

Additionally, Spikes attack by producing unattached Spike Bars and throwing them, which roll down the path in front of them.
