The Plaid Trousers are gear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions that can be worn by both Mario and Luigi, available for purchase in the Castle Town Fashion House.

In the original, they give a DEF boost of 40 points. They can be purchased after Princess Peach arrives in the Beanbean Kingdom, costing 270 coins in the Japanese version and 300 coins in international versions.

In the remake, they give a DEF boost of 31 points and have the Guard Guardian effect, lessening damage taken further. They can now be purchased after returning from Oho Oasis after the Beanstar breaks apart, and cost 480 coins.
