The Plaid Trousers are gear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions that can be worn by both Mario and Luigi.

In the original, they give a DEF boost of 40 points in both regions. They cost 300 coins in the international release, and 270 coins in the Japanese release. They are available for purchase in the Castle Town Fashion House after defeating the Mom Piranha at Beanbean Airport.

In the remake, they give a DEF boost of 31 points. They now have the Guard Guardian attribute, which is meant to reduce damage taken; however, it is bugged and has no extra effect. They cost 480 coins, and sell for 120 coins. They are available for purchase in the Castle Town Fashion House after returning from Oho Oasis for the first time.
