Bounceabout Woods is the second level of the game Yoshi's Woolly World and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World. It introduces bouncy platforms, and contains the first Yoshi transformation in the game - Umbrella Yoshi.

Layout[edit]

Hidden stairs needed to reach third Smiley Flower in Bounceabout Woods, from Yoshi's Woolly World.
Hidden steps

The level starts out next to a Spring Tree,[1] with two Shy Guys sitting underneath, in-between the two Shy Guys is a hidden Winged Cloud which gives out some hearts. After this is a section with two Spring Trees, but in the right-hand corner is another Winged Cloud which creates some beads, which lead up the adjacent platform. The player then needs to jump up some more Spring Trees, before going to one that leads to the next area.

The next area has Shy Guys bouncing on the Spring Trees, as the player progresses up the level. To the left, in a tree, after progressing right through the section is a hidden Winged Cloud which gives out hearts, and a Spring Tree platform that needs filling in. Once the platform has been filled in, it leads to some more beads, and a yellow Spring Tree platform which gives out some beads and a Smiley Flower. After this is a section with Item Balloons and Shy Guys floating above the Spring Tree platforms. Just before a tree stump, one of the Item Balloons is in front of a Winged Cloud, which creates a staircase to a hidden area with lots of beads, and a Smiley Flower. At the end of the section, just before the checkpoint, if the player falls down to the tree they can find a Winged Cloud which creates more beads. The player then needs to go through the Transformation Door to progress.

Going through the door will transform Yoshi into Umbrella Yoshi, and the player will have to traverse the area, whilst avoiding Shy Guys. After this the player will be transformed back into Yoshi and will be in an area on a wooden bridge, with another checkpoint and a jar of beads in front of them. They then need to climb the adjacent tree, by using the Spring Tree platforms. Midway through this section, is a hole in a tree with several blocks. Behind these blocks is a door that leads to an area with beads. After this the player will go on some diagonal Spring Trees, which lead to the Goal Ring.

Collectibles[edit]

Smiley Flowers[edit]

  • Smiley Flower #1: Under the first set of Spring Trees, the player may notice two blue beads leading up to the right wall. Inside this wall, the player can find the first Smiley Flower.
  • Smiley Flower #2: On the first Spring Tree that Yoshi must "fill" with a yarn ball, the player should use it to go left and find a yellow Spring Tree. Yoshi should continuously bounce on it until a Present Box falls out. Inside the box is the Smiley Flower.
  • Smiley Flower #3: In the section with the Spring Trees and Shy Guys on balloons, there is a ring of beads with a hidden Winged Cloud in the center. The player should hit this Winged Cloud with a yarn ball, which will cause stairs to appear leading to a door. The player should enter the door and use the Spring Tree to reach the Smiley Flower high above the door.
  • Smiley Flower #4: After the second checkpoint, there is a hole in the left tree with four blocks, which can be destroyed with yarn balls. Destroying all four will reveal a door that the player can enter. Inside, the player can find a yellow Spring Tree. Similar to the second Flower, the player should continuously bounce on it until a Present Box appears, which contains the fourth Smiley Flower.
  • Smiley Flower #5: Shortly after the door that led to the fourth Flower, the player can find a Shy Guy bouncing on a Spring Tree. Under the Shy Guy is a tree branch which contains a hidden Winged Cloud. Yoshi should hit the Winged Cloud to reveal the Smiley Flower on the Spring Tree with the Shy Guy.

Wonder Wools[edit]

Treetop Yoshi, from Yoshi's Woolly World.
Treetop Yoshi
  • Wonder Wool #1: From the highest bouncy platform of the first set in the first area, the player may notice a cloud to the left, which contains this green Wonder Wool.
  • Wonder Wool #2: This light-green Wonder Wool is under the first bouncing Shy Guy in the second area.
  • Wonder Wool #3: This brown Wonder Wool is located in a floating Present Box in the second area, however, it requires that Yoshi "fill" it with a yarn ball in order to reveal it.
  • Wonder Wool #4: While in the Umbrella Yoshi transformation room, the player can find this light-green Wonder Wool under a Shy Guy on a balloon.
  • Wonder Wool #5: Near the end of the level, there is a section of the right wall that can be unraveled with Yoshi's tongue. This red Wonder Wool can be found within this secret section of unraveled wall.

Collecting all 5 Wonder Wools in this level unlocks Treetop Yoshi.

Yoshi transformation[edit]

This level has a Yoshi transformation - Umbrella Yoshi. Next to the first checkpoint, there is a Transformation Door, which (when entered) will transform the player into Umbrella Yoshi and take them to a special bonus room, which (when completed) cannot be re-entered.
