Clear Pipe Cannons[1] are a type of cannon that appear in Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. As the name suggests, they appear on the ends of certain Clear Pipes, and they are used to launch characters to new sections of a level automatically. After one player enters a Clear Pipe Cannon, all other players will be drawn into it after a short time, as with Warp Pipes or Warp Boxes. Clear Pipe Cannons at the entrance of a Clear Pipe automatically launch players forward, while the cannons at the exit must be fired manually (after which all players lose control of the characters until they are back on the ground).
In the Bowser's Fury campaign of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, the open-world nature of Lake Lapcat allows the player to jump down onto the tops of Clear Pipe Cannons from Cloud Lifts high in the sky. These Clear Pipe Cannons allow Mario to stand on their tops, and they cannot be entered from that end.
