Template:Levelbox Hoppin' Higher is the second level of Rumble Jungle and the thirty-third level overall of Yoshi's Crafted World. This level features Snakeys, long, green, retractable snakes that follow Yoshi through a section.

Overview

Front side

To start, there are three Shy Guys, then an Egg Block. There is then a Snakey, who gets stuck. To get past it, Yoshi must crawl on the Snakey. Yoshi can also throw eggs at or Ground Pound the Snakey's head to retract it. To the right, near the hole the Snakey is coming out of, there is a hidden Winged Cloud. If Yoshi hits it, a group of coins appear, containing two Red Coins. After the Snakey, there is a Shy Guy and a Piranha Plant. Below the Piranha Plant is a hidden Winged Cloud containing five hearts. In this area, there are three crafted frogs which hop. Yoshi can Ground Pound the frogs to make them jump higher. Between the frogs, there are a few coins as well as two red coins. Above the middle frog, there is a Smiley Flower Yoshi can only reach by Ground Pounding the frog. Above the right frog is a Winged Cloud Yoshi can hit to make some more coins appear.

After this area is a Shy Guy below an Egg Block. Just after that is a Winged Timer Cloud.

Flip side

The Baby Rhinono and its parent can still be seen, safe in the background together.

  • The cyan Poochy Pup is in the section after the Fooly Flowers, between the Piranha Plants where the magnet usually is.
  • The black Poochy Pup is riding the first Rhinono that appears.
  • At the location of the paper towel bridge, in the background, the pink Poochy Pup is seen hopping between two alligator heads.

Collectibles

Smiley Flowers

  • Smiley Flower 1: To the left of the first Rhinono, there is a hidden Winged Cloud Yoshi must hit to reveal the Smiley Flower as well as some coins.
  • Smiley Flower 2: Yoshi must hit the first Winged Timer Cloud, then collect all the blue coins that appear before time runs out to reveal the second Smiley Flower.
  • Smiley Flower 3: In the hidden compartment, where the Rhinono falls after popping the balloons.
  • Smiley Flower 4: Before the second Winged Timer Cloud, to the left atop a separate koala can.
  • Smiley Flower 5: Yoshi must hit the second Winged Timer Cloud, then find and hit the Smiley Flower hidden among the Fooly Flowers.
  • Smiley Flower 6: Once the bridge is repaired, Yoshi must head into the background and left to find a hidden Winged Cloud. Hitting it reveals coins and the last Smiley Flower.

Three more Smiley Flowers are awarded for collecting at least 100 coins in the level, completing the level with 20 hearts, and collecting all 20 Red Coins. In the flip side, three are awarded for bringing all three Poochy Pups to the goal, and one more for doing so within three minutes.

In many Mario games, particularly RPGs, there is an event or cutscene in which during or afterward, the player becomes incapable of saving their progress. This is often referred to as the point of no return, due to the player being unable to return to any previous locations to collect items or complete sidequests upon reaching a certain point in the game.

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time

In Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, the point of no return comes with quite a few exceptions.

The initial point of no return occurs when Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi enter the room in which Princess Peach is held captive. Stuffwell asks Mario to save their progress in that area, explaining that his "forecastination sensors are clanging away", that he does not believe they will be able to return once they pass through the doors. When Luigi tries to leave, Stuffwell forcefully convinces him to stay and save.
