This is the Shy Squad. It'll attack us with all its members at once. Max HP: 15, Attack Power: 1, Defense Power: 0 The number of times we're attacked will equal the number of Shy Guys in the Squad. Its attack power is huge when there are many Guys, but it drops for each one that falls. Let's use an attack that does tons of damage so we can decrease their numbers and increase our chances!

“Ok, guys! All together now! Let's rush him! Chaaaaarge!!!”
Shy Squad, Paper Mario

The Shy Squad is General Guy's personal subdivision of Shy Guys in the Shy Guy Army in Paper Mario. They are first encountered shortly before the boss battle against the General in Shy Guy's Toy Box. The Shy Squad was followed by two elite factions: the Stilt Guys and Shy Stacks, before General Guy himself could be battled.

The Shy Squad is similar to the X-Naut Squad headed by Lord Crump in that they both appear in a large cluster, they have HP relevant to their numbers, and there is a particular member that trips a lot. They attack by mobbing Mario, then attack in quick succession, taking away one HP for each hit. How many times they attack depends on how many Shy Guys are left in the Squad. With excellent timing, it is possible to defend every attack they do, nullifying damage.

Despite Shy Guys having low, squeaky voices (though at the time that Paper Mario was made it was more common for Shy Guys to sound like bleeps), the Shy Squad always has a high-pitched, feminine shriek.
