Luigi's Mansion is a battle course that takes place in the location of the same name. It first appears in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! as a battle course, unlocked by obtaining a gold trophy in the 150cc Mushroom Cup.

The course consists of a three-floored winding maze. The second floor is a wide room that resembles the Ball Room, where all the racers start their battle. The first floor is a corridor where it is possible to place some traps down, especially near the Item Boxes scattered in the hall. The third floor is actually the roof terrace, where, unlike the other zones, there are no Item Boxes. The center of the terrace is a gap where the racers fall directly to the second floor. All the floors are connected together by bended corridors, three leading to the first floor and one to the terrace. Some of the portrait ghosts from the game Luigi's Mansion appear within the stage. The music is the same as that of Bowser's Castle. In Shine Thief, the standard battle music is used.

In a prerelease demo version of Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, the course's text on the course selection screen reads "Y Maze".[1]

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Luigi's Mansion returns in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as a retro battle course, where it receives a revamped look. The first floor has been completely redesigned. The second floor is now covered by a glass roof, as there is rain on the terrace. The access corridor to the terrace is now mirrored, and is located on the opposite side from where it was originally. There's now a small split path in the lower level of the course. Similarly to 3DS Wuhu Town, it receives a different music piece, which is a rearrangement of the Luigi's Mansion theme from Mario Kart DS. Luigi's Mansion is the only battle course in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to have its map be displayed at an angle, allowing players to see what floor other players are on. This, alongside the other changes to the track, makes the minimap resemble the Poltergust.
