Special Items[1] are a class of items that appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its port. They are stored for later use, unlike standard items, and can be selected for immediate use during a level via the pause menu. They can be collected by winning them in Bonus Challenges and Mini Battles. The Anytime Egg, Anywhere POW, and Magnifying Glass can be acquired only through Bonus Challenges.
