Eeries are enemies introduced in Super Mario World. These ghostly dinosaurs can fly in either straight or wobbly lines and usually appear in packs, damaging Mario or Luigi on contact. Eeries are encountered in Ghost Houses and appear in most of them. Like Boos, they can be defeated only with a Super Star. Eeries make another appearance in the Nintendo GameCube version of Yoshi's Cookie, where they appear as the fourth opponent in the game's VS. Mode if the player plays on the medium difficulty.

- Although Eeries are absent in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, their graphics are present in the game's code, presumably intended for inclusion in one of the World-e levels.
- The underbodies of Bonneters in Super Mario Odyssey resemble those of Eeries.
