Arrow Barrels,[1] also known as Blast Barrels,[citation needed] are a type of Blast Barrel with a white arrow on the side appearing in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! Like normal Blast Barrels, they fire the Kongs out automatically after they jump inside. Unlike Blast Barrels, which often turn before firing, Arrow Barrels always face a fixed direction, making it clear where the Kongs will be fired before they jump inside. Most Arrow Barrels point straight upwards or at an upwards angle and are used to climb vertically oriented stages. Usually, they have a relatively weak blast, allowing the Kongs to slightly control their paths in the air, which is less common in normal Blast Barrels. However, a few Arrow Barrels have stronger blasts that put the Kongs on uncontrollable linear paths.

In most games since Super Smash Bros., the Arrow Barrels' design is adapted to standard Barrel Cannons, likely to better differentiate them from normal barrels.
