Dumb Drum, named Oil Drum on one occasion,[1] is the fifth boss in Donkey Kong Country. Dumb Drum is a giant black drum that is seemingly mechanical,[2] and it has a skull and crossbones emblem with glowing, red eyes printed on it. Dumb Drum is fought in Boss Dumb Drum, at the end of Kremkroc Industries Inc. When starting the battle, Dumb Drum will try to hit Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong by floating in the air and slamming itself down on them. If Dumb Drum misses the Kongs, it will begin to release two enemies out of its body. In the battle, Dumb Drum will release the following enemies, in order of: Kritters, Slippas, Klaptraps, Klumps, and Armies. Each time the Kongs defeat a wave of enemies, Dumb Drum will try to crush them again at a faster pace after each round, and takes another attempt for every wave beaten (e.g. after the Kritters are beaten, it will do so twice, after the Slippas, three times, etc.). Dumb Drum can be defeated by defeating all five waves of enemies, somehow causing it to self-destruct.

In the Game Boy Advance version, Dumb Drum is attacked by throwing a TNT Drum at it, which only appears after defeating a wave of enemies. It only tries to crush the Kongs until they throw the barrel, and if they miss, it releases the same set of enemies again.
