Submerged Stint is the second Funky's Flights mission in the Game Boy Advance port of Donkey Kong Country 2. It can be played in Crocodile Cauldron. This mission has a ten-minute time limit that can be increased by picking up the clocks around the area.
Layout[edit]
In this mission, Diddy Kong must use the Gyrocopter's winch to bring a treasure chest to the end of the area. This mission has multiple ammo boxes lying around: if Diddy collects one, he gets the ammo depicted on the box. Three times during the mission, Diddy has to destroy a large crate blocking the path by shooting it. When Diddy goes underwater, the air meter starts decreasing. If he collects an air bubble, the air meter resets to 60 seconds. While underwater, Diddy moves and shoots slower. After Diddy navigates through the underwater section, Funky Kong can be found at the helipad. Diddy must drop the chest by Funky and then land to complete the mission.
In-game text[edit]
Description[edit]
- "Woah, dude, you back again? I have just the job for you, but you must learn to fly using advanced controls. Pressing the button will lock your facing direction, allowing you to shoot while moving backwards. Pressing the button will make the copter face forward; useful in tight situations. One thing, though. While in this mode, you can only drop bombs. I need you to take a chest to the second landing zone. There is one problem. The way ahead is flooded. The Gyrocopter can only hold so much air, so keep a close eye on the gauge in the bottom right corner of the screen. Press SELECT to release the winch; it will automatically hook onto the chest. Press SELECT again to retract the winch. One more thing. You'll need to pick up some ammo packs and blast your way through any blockages. This is a long-haul mission. I have filled her up to the max. You have ten minutes of flyin' time. Don't waste it."
Upon completion[edit]
- "Well done, guys. You did it. The chest is still in one piece. Thanks for your help. Take this Hero Coin."
