The Super Poltergust 3001 is an upgraded version of the Poltergust 3000 found in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake. It was created by Professor Elvin Gadd. He flies in on this machine after the Mario Bros. have obtained a series of drinks at Starbeans Cafe. The Super Poltergust 3001 appears to have a vacuum to suck up ghosts, just as the original Poltergust did; however, this one is shaped so one can be able to ride it and travel at high speeds.

While this rideable Poltergust is shown in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the original Poltergust 3000 can be ridden on as well, but only in the PAL version of Luigi's Mansion during the fight with Boolossus in the Hidden Mansion. Additionally, a third rideable Poltergust, known as the Poltergust 4000, is one of Luigi's karts in Mario Kart DS.
