Each player must shoot five cards from a falling deck and try to get the highest score. The cards flip repetitively, and the number on each card (and therefore the [[point]] value) is visible for only a short while. The numbers are 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, ×2 (which doubles the player's current score), and ×0 (which reduces the player's total score to zero). The "×" cards are multipliers. A timer is not visible while the game is in progress, but as soon as the last of the cards fall offscreen, the game ends; afterwards, the value of the cards gets added up or multiplied. Whoever has the most points wins the minigame. The most points a player can get is 800, obtained by hitting a 50 first and then ×2s for the other four, or by hitting two 50s first and three ×2s after.

Aim of the Game is a Battle and Duel minigame found in Mario Party 8 and a Free-for-All minigame featured in Mario Party: The Top 100. It takes place in a casino. Its name is a pun on a phrase that means "what one wants to accomplish."

Introduction

A top hat is on the screen, and cards start flying out of the top. Shortly thereafter, the game begins.

Gameplay

Each player must shoot five cards from a falling deck and try to get the highest score. The cards flip repetitively, and the number on each card (and therefore the point value) is visible for only a short while. The numbers are 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, ×2 (which doubles the player's current score), and ×0 (which reduces the player's total score to zero akin to the rings that inscribe Bowser's face in Surf's Way Up). The "×" cards are multipliers. A timer is not visible while the game is in progress, but as soon as the last of the cards fall offscreen, the game ends; afterwards, the value of the cards gets added up or multiplied. Whoever has the most points wins the minigame. The most points a player can get is 800, obtained by hitting a 50-point card first and then ×2-multiplier cards for the other four, or by hitting two 50-point cards first and three ×2-multiplier cards after.

In Mario Party: The Top 100, the cards descend noticeably faster.

Ending

Winning players (as well as second-place players in The Top 100) perform their respective victory poses while any losing players do their losing animations beside them. If the minigame ends in a tie in Mario Party 8, all players do their losing animations.
