Like normal Bullet Bills, Cat Bullet Bills are fired from Bill Blasters (making a meowing sound effect while doing so). However, unlike normal Bullet Bills, Cat Bullet Bills will lock onto, and follow the player, making them similar to the Bull's-Eye Bill. However, unlike Bull's-Eye Bills, Cat Bullet Bills always follow a horizontal path; they cannot travel vertically.

Cat Bullet Bills will sometimes drop a Super Bell when defeated. In the level The Bullet Bill Express, Cat Banzai Bills appear, which act as red Banzai Bills.

They appear in Super Mario Maker 2 as enemies that can be added to courses, where they replace Bull's-Eye Bills in the Super Mario 3D World theme.
