Stretch Shrooms are a type of a Mushroom Platform found in New Super Mario Bros., New Super Mario Bros. Wii, New Super Mario Bros. 2, and New Super Mario Bros. U and its Nintendo Switch port, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
History

New Super Mario Bros.
Stretch Shrooms first appear in New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS. They first and only appear in World 5-A, except they are colored in blue. They shrink and expands to help the player to get through the level.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Stretch Shrooms return in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. They act the same way as previously, except they are colored in pink instead of blue.
New Super Mario Bros. 2
Stretch Shrooms reappear once again in New Super Mario Bros. 2. They act the same way as previously.
New Super Mario Bros. U
Stretch Shrooms also appear in New Super Mario Bros. U. They act the same way as previously.
