Hook Guys first appear in Yoshi's Woolly World. They are similar to Spear Guys found in previous Yoshi's Island games, but the only difference between them is that Hook Guys hold the spear horizontally. Their spear is slightly curved on the top which makes it look like a hook, hence the name. As normal Spear Guys, Yoshi can turn them to eggs (but in this game, yarn balls) by eating them from behind.
