The Circuit Special is an unlockable kart body in Mario Kart 8. It resembles a Formula One car, similar to the Sprinter (B Dasher Mk 2 in the PAL regions and Japan) from Mario Kart Wii. In fact, its Dutch name is the Sprinter 2.0, either a reference to the B Dasher (Sprinter in Dutch), or the actual Sprinter (B Dasher Mk 2 in PAL regions and Japan).
It offers a speed and weight boost, but it hinders in acceleration and especially traction; it shares its stats with the Sports Coupe, Mach 8, B Dasher, and P-Wing. Similarly, the Sport Bike also has both a green and an orange/yellow varnish that greatly resemble the green and orange/yellow varnish for the Circuit Special.
A CPU-controlled Yoshi, Rosalina, Metal Mario, and Pink Gold Peach may occasionally use this kart body with the Standard tires.

Trivia
- Just like the Sport Bike, Donkey Kong is one of few non-DLC males who has the orange varnish color, however, this time, he is joined by Larry Koopa, who is the second only male who has this color scheme.
- This is one of the few vehicle bodies where Peach, Daisy, and their baby counterparts share one of the color schemes, while Rosalina and Baby Rosalina's color scheme is separate from the other two princesses and their baby counterparts.
- The Circuit Special's green varnish color is the one of the four varnish colors to be used by only male characters as the others are used by at least one female character.
- Shy Guy's red colour is his default appearance, despite using the black varnish making it the only colour not to use the blue varnish.
