Bowser on his ATV.
All-Terrain Vehicles, shortened as ATVs (known as Quads outside North America) are vehicles debuting in Mario Kart 8, alongside karts and bikes. They are four-wheelers in different colors and have features that differ from karts and bikes.
The basic model of the ATV for all characters is the Standard ATV, a motocross four-wheeler showing the character's emblem over the plate of the front and the sides of the rear. The color of a Standard ATV also changes, matching the character's custom color.
ATVs differ from karts and bikes in that while driving an ATV, characters are able to perform wheelies if they use a speed boost, which is only an aesthetic effect.
