Template:Racecourse DK Jungle is the first race course in the Special Cup of Mario Kart 7 and takes place in Jungle Japes. The course is based on Donkey Kong Country Returns. Some elements and enemies of this game make their appearance in this course, like Tiki Goons, Screaming Pillars and also DK's House. The soundtrack is a cover version of Jungle Hijinxs from Donkey Kong Country. This track will return in Mario Kart 8.

Course layout

The track passes through a jungle, where some DK Barrels appear. After going out of the jungle the drivers have to bounce on a large, red flower from Donkey Kong Country Returns, to land in a path near waterfalls and a lake. DK's House appear there and some Tiki Goons move on the track. Then it continues in a second jungle, similar to the first with giant leaping frogs similar to Frogoons, before going in the Golden Temple. After some turns, past the gold banana, the drivers have to glide over a lake where several Screaming Pillars stay and once in a while scream shooting out air to blow back hanggliding players. Finally they land and with a trick ramp rejoin the first jungle.

Also in the background of the course is a flying, airship-like craft with a sort of parachute.

In Mario Kart 8, some objects are changed and replaced; the entrance to the temple is now slanted upward and acts as an anti gravity section.

Shortcuts

In the second jungle there's a secret glider ramp that brings the driver in the Banana Temple.
