Heatfreeze Island is an island in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. As the name implies, it is a half snowy and half volcanic island. At the island's base are two villages of each side, Freezin Village and Boilin Village, which initially do not get along, although the villages later live in harmony when Burnadette and Chilliam get married. It is the second island found drifting in the Brrrning Sea.

History[edit]

When Mario and Luigi first arrive on Heatfreeze Island, the path to the lighthouse is blocked by arguing inhabitants from the two villages who demand Mario and Luigi to eat each village's signature dish and decide which is better. After Mario, Luigi and Snoutlet eat some Hottato Stew and Potato Gelato, their verdict is that the dishes would taste good together, although the inhabitants are not satisfied with the result and go back to the kitchens to make something better, clearing the path. Later on after Heatfreeze Island is linked to Shipshape Island, Burnadette and Chilliam host a wedding on the island which ends the longtime feud between Freezin Village and Boilin Village.

Following Bowser's attack on Shipshape Island, Heatfreeze Island gets disconnected and drifts in the Gulchrock Sea along with Twistee Island. While Heatfreeze Island is drifting, Bowser's Minions invade the island. If Heatfreeze Island is visited first, Burnadette and Chilliam defend their respective villages as Mario and Luigi step in to help them. If Heatfreeze Island is visited second, Bowser's Minions take over both villages. On the way to the lighthouse to reconnect the island, Mario and Luigi meet statues of the island's guardians who give the Bros. a Fire Flower and an Ice Flower, teaching them the Fire & Ice Bros. Move. Once the island is reconnected, Bowser's Minions all leave the island.

Enemies[edit]

These enemies only appear during Bowser's Minions' invasion and temporarily replace the other enemies:

After Reclusa awakens, the initial enemies are replaced with Glohm versions of themselves:
