A Lighthouse on Allsand Island.

Lighthouses are important structures present on almost every major island in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Supposedly ancient structures that can connect the lands of Concordia, they are the main objectives of Mario and Luigi's island expeditions. These lighthouses have a flower-like structure with a light at their top as well as a plug. Upon reaching a lighthouse, the Bros. pull out the plug, allowing Snoutlet to guide it back to the lighthouse on Shipshape Island, connecting the island with its Uni-Tree to receive Connectar and power up again. The only major island with no lighthouse is Wayaway Island; Fortress Zokket and the Soli-Tree do not count since they are not technically islands.

Uses[edit]

Each lighthouse is equipped with an enormous light bulb powered by Connectar, which illuminates the area around it, and causes Connectar Flowers to bloom. While not powered, the structure houses a large plug that, when pulled out, appears to have the ability to levitate and propel itself at high speed. The plug can then be plugged into an appropriate socket connected to a Uni-Tree, allowing it to receive Connectar and resume its use.

Additionally, through the cord-like trail of Connectar, the area around a lighthouse will be bound physically to the socket and pulled by its motion, despite the cord's intangible nature. Through the properties of Connectar, Warp Pipes can be established through this connection, allowing island residents to traverse through connected islands.

There are also Great Lighthouses, which look more similar to real-life lighthouses.
