Speed Skating is an event class that appears in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, the class contains three events based around skating a required distance in the fastest time possible, Speed Skating 500m, Short Track 1,000m and Short Track Relay. In Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, Speed Skating 500m and Short Track Speed Skating 1000m are included in the event class. The speed skating-based events Speed Skating 500m and Short Track 500m appear in the Nintendo DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, but are instead included in the Skating class.
