Mimics[1][2] are enemies in Donkey Kong Country Returns, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and its Nintendo Switch port. They are bushes with glowing yellow eyes and two short legs. Mimics blend in with the scenery due to their bush appearance as well as the fact that they appear in silhouette levels only. Whenever a Mimic is approached by the Kongs, it hops up and chases them. Touching a Mimic takes away one of the Kongs' heart points, like with most enemies. A Mimic can be defeated from either a jump or a Roll Attack. If Donkey Kong Hand Slaps with a Mimic on the screen, leaves will shake off from the bush; the leaves also move around slightly while regular bushes have no animation.

In Donkey Kong Country Returns, Mimics only appear in one level, Sunset Shore. In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, they only appear in one level, Busted Bayou, along with their larger counterpart, Large Mimics.
