- “That mustached guy... Does he like me?”
- —Jojora's friends, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Jojora's friends[1] are bosses in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake. They appear in Joke's End, where the player selects one of them to invite prior to the battle via a menu selection, determining which one will appear in the battle: Chucklissa, Oholina, Hoohoolia, or Teeheena. However, the only difference between them is their names, as they all have the same appearance and battle identically; as such, it is implied that they are actually the same person, with the "choosing" being one of Jojora's tricks. They have snowball-like bodies, white faces, and muscular arms. They are all named after places in the Beanbean Kingdom: Chateau de Chucklehuck/Woods, Oho Oasis/Ocean, Hoohoo Mountain/Village, and Teehee Valley, respectively. As a result, the names are all related to onomatopoeias for laughter.
When the Mario Bros. reach the top of Joke's End, Jojora invites them to a tea party and asks them which of her friends they want to meet, and the player can choose the name. The friend ends up attacking the brothers when she appears along with Jojora, thus initiating the fight. One of the friend's attacks is to try to kiss Mario and Luigi, which can be countered with a Jump. It may also cause the poison status effect. If the brothers hurt Jojora's friend when Jojora is around, Jojora buries them in snow (prevented by pressing and rapidly), as well as restoring 18 HP to herself and 60 HP to her friend.
The friend can either be healed or take critical damage from the Bros., depending on her makeup: she is healed with Firebrand (so Thunderhand is effective) when she has makeup, and healed with Thunderhand when she does not (so Firebrand is effective). The makeup increases the defense of the friend wearing it at the cost of speed. The friend also has the ability to turn into a snowball and crush the Bros, which is countered by hammers. If she winks her right eye before performing this attack, she targets Mario; if she winks her left eye, she targets Luigi. She melts after being defeated.

Trivia[edit]
- If Jojora's friend is defeated via Burn damage, a glitch will occur where the battle is not over and there is nothing to attack, and the game freezes. This glitch is not present in the Japanese version or the remake.
