Tail Wheels[1] are objects in Super Mario 3D Land. These wooden wheels are hidden in Brick Blocks on top of some platforms and can rotate when when tail-whipped by Tanooki Mario, causing the platform to ascend and allowing him to reach a new area. A Tail Wheel is also an object in Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, where the skaters in Mario's Figure Skating Spectacular use a Tail Wheel by performing a spin to return to Peach's Castle.
Tail Wheels have been replaced with Cat Wheels since Super Mario 3D World.
