The Daytripper (known as the Royal Racer in the PAL regions) is a medium-sized kart found in Mario Kart Wii. The vehicle resembles an old-fashioned coach in the shape of a curled slipper with its rear tires larger than the front tires.

Trivia
*The Female Mii is the only driver to use white as the primary body color for the Daytripper while all other characters use white as the secondary body color. However, this is due to that a medium-sized Female Mii's kart color scheme is the inverse of Peach's color scheme for all karts, except for the Super Blooper and Sprinter.
*The Daytripper and its bike counterpart the Sugarscoot are the only medium vehicles to use Peach's versions as for Time Trials records, the Mario Kart Channel, and on the unlocking screens (Daytripper only, since the Sugarscoot is a starter vehicle); while all other medium vehicles use Mario's versions for these appearances.

The Daytripper, known as the Royal Racer in British English, is a kart from the Mario Kart series. The vehicle resembles an old-fashioned and decorated horse-drawn coach, with its rear tires larger than the front. The emblem is located on the sides and back of the kart. Its American English name is a reference to the Beatles' song "Day Tripper", and its Spanish name references the lyrics "She was a daytripper, Sunday driver yeah".

History[edit]

Mario Kart series[edit]

Mario Kart Wii[edit]

The Daytripper first appears in Mario Kart Wii as a medium-sized kart. It can be unlocked by winning the 150cc Leaf Cup or by playing 2,700 races. The kart features great handling along with decent weight, acceleration, off-road, and Mini-Turbo. However, its speed and drifting are below average. It shares the same weight as the Standard Kart M, the same acceleration as the Standard Bike S and the Wario Bike, and the same off-road as the Quacker. However, it is the slowest medium kart in the game and its drifting is the same as the Magikruiser, while its speed and mini-turbo are tied with the Cheep Charger. Its bike counterpart is the Sugarscoot, while its small and large counterparts are the Booster Seat and Offroader respectively. This and the Sugarscoot are the only medium vehicles with a speed stat of less than thirty-five. Its stat total is 323 stat points. It will be able to drift on normal off-road terrain if Yoshi, Birdo, Bowser Jr. or a Mii drives it.
