The opening shows a [[Chain Chomp]] being tied to a post next to the doghouse, being painted by a player character. When the Chain Chomp sees a butterfly, it tries to chase it, accidentally spilling paint buckets in the process that cover it with some paint.

Players try to clean five spots of paint off of their Chain Chomp before time is up. When a spot is cleaned, the Chain Chomp turns, showing another spot to clean. The player who cleans every spot first wins, though in ''Mario Party 8'', if none of the players fulfill the objective by five minutes, the result is a tie.
The character uses a sponge to clean the dirty Chain Chomp. There are five spots of paint that cover it, and the player must clean all of them to win. After the player cleans a spot of paint on the Chain Chomp, it turns around to where there is another spot of paint. The player that cleans all the spots of paint first wins. In ''Mario Party 8'', if no player finishes within five minutes, the minigame ends in a tie.
