Before Gobblick is fought, it is being fed Spite Bulbs (a hostile, Glohm-infused version of the Sprite Bulb) by the Extension Corps. When Mario, Luigi, Connie, and Snoutlet run afoul of the scene, Shun tries to explain what the trio of troublemakers is doing, only to be shut up by Ten, while Ecks decides that Gobblick can just fight the heroic quartet as a counter-offer. During their getaway, Ecks claims that the Extension Corps has more important business, or "a bigger fish to zap" in his words.

When Mario and Luigi lock horns with the Extension Corps one last time in Zokket's fortress, Ecks uses high-speed attacks. First, he may perform a move similar to the Spritzbloom from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, and must be repelled with a hammer strike before he zaps a Bro. In his second attack, Ecks will sneak up behind his target to crash into them from behind; this is countered by jumping on him. Ecks' third attack is part of the Extension Corps' combo attack when Shun uses one of his Battle Plugs which merges them in mind. This one has Ecks dash into the Bros. from the sides, and his charges must be countered by jumping. This is done while Ten shoots plasma from his arm cannon and Shun punches a punching bag. Additionally, if the Bros. dodge the barbells that Shun lifts in his weightlifting attack, Ecks takes 88 damage upon getting hit by the large barbell (unless the barbell strikes Ten instead). In the final leg of the fight, Shun uses an Invincible plug so that the Extension Corps cannot be damaged; however, a fiery blast will trigger a few turns afterward. Since Ecks levitates, he cannot be hurt by ground-based weaponry. Ecks has the highest speed of the trio.
According to one of the Grampy Turnips in the Soli-Tree, Ecks is skilled at washing dishes.

When Mario and Luigi confront with the Extension Corps for the final time in Fortress Zokket, Ecks uses high-speed attacks. First, he may perform a move similar to the Spritzbloom from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team where he quickly zips around the screen in a repeating pattern and must be repelled with a hammer strike before he hits a Bro. For his second attack, Ecks will sneak away off-screen, only to reappear after a number of turns and ambush a Bro from behind; this is countered by jumping on him. When he lands an attack, he will steal an active Battle Plug and throw it away for the rest of the battle. If the player has no plugs equipped, then he will steal a Mushroom from the Bros' inventory (prioritizing the most potent Mushroom types first) and use it to heal himself or his allies. Using the Protectus plug will prevent Ecks from stealing any item since the effect is activated by successfully doing damage. If the Bros. have no plugs equipped and do not possess any Mushrooms, Ecks will not steal anything.

Shun later reveals that the Extension Corps also have their own Battle Plugs:
*The three start off with the HUUUGE Iron Ball plug, causing iron balls to fall on a Bros' head if they take damage, which must be repelled with hammer. The plug will sometimes cause iron balls to drop above the Extension Corps as well.
*Next is the PunishMush plug, causing the Bros. to take damage if they eat a Mushroom. Snoutlet warns to not use any plugs that involves mushrooms.
*Afterwards is the Theme Song plug. The trio dances and powers up.
*After taking enough damage, the corps use the Single-Minded plug, giving the trio a combo attack: Ecks dashes into the Bros. from the side, Ten fires shots from his arm cannon, and Shun punches a punching bag. All three must be jumped over, with the exception of the punching bag which must be repelled via hammer strike. In addition to gaining the combo attack, they all combine whatever health they have remaining, and if one member takes damage, all three take damage. If the trio is countered after using the Single-Minded plug, they become frustrated with the shared damage and briefly attack themselves.
*The final and last resort is the Invincible plug, causing the trio to become invincible for one turn before an explosion erupts from each of them. The explosion can have its damage reduced or negated with Emergency Block or Protectus or Notdroppin' plugs, and can be avoided entirely with a Boo Biscuit, but it cannot be dodged. Should the Bros. survive the explosion, the Extension Corps will then be defeated.

Each member drops 5700 Experience Points and 450 Coins (for totals of 17100 and 1350, respectively), and Ecks has a Max Syrup Jar included in his loot drop. Each member's HP is also hidden, unlike most other enemies.

Ecks, Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Ecks is a member of the Extension Corps under Zokket in Mario & Luigi: Brothership alongside Ten and Shun. He is a floating, magenta being that wears a yellow cape. Ecks has black eyes with white pupils and a purple horn extending from the back of his head, and his mouth has yellow, square teeth, while his hands are based on fork connectors. The horn on his head and his teeth are based on a LAN cable head.[1] His name is derived from the first syllable of "extension", in reference to extension cords; Ten and Shun are named after the other two syllables. When the Extension Corps are flying, Ecks is the only member to not be carried by a Snaptor, due to him already having the ability to fly.

Before Gobblick is fought, it is being fed Spite Bulbs (a hostile Sprite Bulb cut off from Connectar) by the Extension Corps. When Mario, Luigi, Connie, and Snoutlet run afoul of the scene, Shun tries to explain what the trio of troublemakers is doing, only to be interrupted by Ten, while Ecks decides that Gobblick can just fight the heroic quartet as a counter-offer. During their getaway, Ecks claims that the Extension Corps has more important business, or "a bigger fish to zap" in his own words.

Ecks is more involved in the battle against Sharpcask; he plays a supportive role but is not an actual targetable enemy. Throughout the battle, he may appear and cheer on Sharpcask to boost the boss's POW and DEF for one turn.

According to one of the Grampy Turnips in the Soli-Tree, Ecks is skilled at washing dishes.

Battle[edit]

 • The three start off with the HUUUGE Iron Ball plug, causing iron balls to fall on a Bros' head if they take damage, which must be repelled with hammer. The plug will sometimes cause iron balls to drop above the Extension Corps as well.
 • Next is the PunishMush plug, causing the Bros. to take damage if they eat a Mushroom. Snoutlet warns to not use any plugs that involves mushrooms.
 • Afterwards is the Theme Song plug. The trio dances and powers up.
 • After taking enough damage, the corps use the Single-Minded plug, giving the trio a combo attack: Ecks dashes into the Bros. from the side, Ten fires shots from his arm cannon, and Shun punches a punching bag.
 • The final and last resort is the Invincible plug, causing the trio to become invincible for one turn before an explosion erupts from each of them. The explosion can have its damage reduced or negated with Emergency Block or Protectus or Notdroppin' plugs, and can be avoided entirely with a Boo Biscuit, but it cannot be dodged.[2] Should the Bros. survive the explosion, the Extension Corps will then be defeated.

Each member drops 5700 Experience Points and 450 Coins (for totals of 17100 and 1350, respectively), and Ecks has a Max Syrup Jar included in his loot drop. Each member's HP is also hidden, unlike most other enemies.
