- —Message Block, Yoshi's New Island
Fake Yoshis are enemies in Yoshi's New Island. These Shy Guys disguise themselves as Yoshi. They appear only in the level Inside the Outside, where they can be summoned by striking a Winged Cloud; when it is stricken, a Shy Guy appears and turns into a Fake Yoshi. The player can control the Fake Yoshi. Pink Yoshi must then lead the Fake Yoshi into a spike pit. Once the Fake Yoshi falls on a spike, the Shy Guy reveals itself before being defeated. In its true form, it is shown to be white with green spots like a Yoshi egg.
