The Popgun Pound[1][2] is one of Diddy Kong's abilities in Donkey Kong Country Returns, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (as well as its Nintendo Switch port. It can be performed only when he is controlled independently, which is possible in multiplayer mode or Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze's Hard Mode.

The Popgun Pound is Diddy's version of the ground pound ability that other playable characters use. Diddy fires his Peanut Popguns at the ground, creating tremors. Game manual description

Shake the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to shoot Diddy Kong's Peanut Popgun at the ground, and create small tremors. These tremors will stun nearby enemies and allow Diddy Kong to interact with certain objects in the environment, such as DK Plates.
