The Big Lantern Ghost is the mid-boss of Shy Guy's Toy Box from Paper Mario. He is a giant Lantern Ghost with a bandage on his forehead who resides in a dark room. After being defeated in battle, Mario learns that the Big Lantern Ghost had been holding Watt prisoner inside of his lantern.
At the start of the battle, the Big Lantern Ghost cannot be attacked directly. In order to target him, the player must repeatedly attack the lantern that he holds in order to spread light through the room and render him visible for attack.
