A Big Whomp can only be defeated with a Ground Pound, just as before, and are again able to walk around, but they can also be seen in the background. Once a Big Whomp in the background falls, there can be coins, Roulette Blocks or even a Red Ring behind them.

Big Whomps make a third appearance in Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, as enemies and allies to Mario. Big Whomps are Fire and Light-elemental, and they have Fury Stance as their skill as well as Fire Boost as their Awoken Skill. A Big Whomp can also evolve from a regular Whomp. Big Whomp has a max level of 50, and its number listed in the guide is 100.
