In Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Yellow Snaggles appear in the Beach world and some other levels, including Damp Dungeon. Like regular Snaggles, they leap out of the water at regular intervals, but quickly follow with an additional leap without signalling it. Yellow Snaggles can only be defeated by a barrel. If Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong touch a Yellow Snaggles, they lose a heart from their health meter. Yellow Snaggles make dog-like noises while jumping out of the water, just like regular Snaggles.
