Fake Yoshis[1] are enemies that look just like Yoshi that appear in Yoshi's New Island. They appear in World 2-2, Inside the Outside and can be summoned by striking a block. A Fake Yoshi then appears on the opposite side of the screen from Yoshi. Yoshi must lead the Fake Yoshi into a spike pit, this being possible because the player also controls Fake Yoshi. At the start of each course, or once it falls into a pit of spikes, it reveals its true self before being defeated: a Shy Guy.
